Be sure to read through this welcome packet to find out more about what to expect and how to prepare for your maternity session.

In the lounge menu is your portrait session agreement.  Please read thoroughly and sign. We are unable to complete any services without the completion of the portrait agreement.

Your maternity session includes a pre-session consultation, up to 1 hour shoot time, custom editing and retouching of 20 images, and an in person reveal/ordering session (order is placed and paid for at this time).

when should i have my maternity portraits taken?

I suggest around week 32 to week 36. You want to have a baby bump to show off but still be comfortable for your session.

how do i prepare for the session?

Not too much preparation is required on your part – but, here are some pointers to help you feel your best when the camera is on you:

The day of the shoot, don’t wear tight clothing, bras or other constricting bands; this will avoid marks on your skin.

Steer clear of salt the day before and day of your shoot to prevent bloating. Drink plenty of water and get a good night’s rest before your shoot.

Have nails manicured – make sure any family members who will be participating also have clean nails.

how should i do my makeup?

To achieve a face you are comfortable with but also shows well on camera, I recommend applying makeup as you normally would for daytime, being sure to accentuate your cheek bones and wear plenty of mascara.

what do i wear?

Please, wear what you are comfortable in! If you are going to wear pants, I suggest pre-pregnancy pants/leggings so they can sit below belly and showcase your bump. I also favor solids, strips, and other solid patterns. Busy fabric tends to take the focus away from your beautiful figure and make it about the clothing.

Additionally, I have a few options you can pick from in the JSP client closet.
